I trained in Birmingham and taught art in secondary school there, subsequently leaving the teaching profession to pursue a career in business. Since then I have developed my art practice in conjunction with the weighty distractions of bringing up my family and making a living – the trials and tribulations of women artists! Drawing has always been of huge importance to me, both from life and less so with experimental and creative, imaginative work. I am primarily a penciller, and then more recently a painter as in the last few years I have been excited by paint much more and now building up a portfolio. I aim to draw or paint every day whether small sketches or larger studio work and am very passionate about portraiture and the human form. I love the portrait most of all. I also love to produce mosaics from reclaimed materials. My website contains a vast gallery of work in many media.
